Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.  影片改编自2022年的同名独立恐怖游戏。背景设定在名为“The Quiet Rapture”的末日之后，一名囚犯被迫深入血红色的海洋，驾驶一艘锈迹斑斑的微型潜艇搜寻残存的自然资源。

本片是一部以大学生宫田阳彩（南沙良 饰）为主角的“青春逃亡故事”。阳彩一边上学，一边从早到晚忙于打工和家务。虽然母亲并未对她施加暴力，但她一直被母亲口中的“爱”束缚着，在这种温柔却令人窒息的绝望和对人生的失落感中度日。她定期给母亲送钱，照顾她，却始终感受不到真正的自由和幸福。某天，阳彩在打工的地方邂逅了同班同学江永雅（马场富美加 饰）。这次相遇，悄然改变了阳彩的人生轨迹。
