故事围绕的士司机宇佐美浩二（木村拓哉 饰）展开，他每日奔波于都市间工作养家，却因女儿的学费、的士验车费、房屋租金等接踵而至的现实压力而身心俱疲。某日，浩二接到一项特别的委托——接载年迈的高野堇女士（倍赏千惠子 饰）从东京柴又前往神奈川叶山的养老院。“在离开东京之前，想先到几个想去的地方看看”，堇女士淡然请求。随着的士驶过日本的大街小巷，陌生的两人逐渐打开心扉，堇女士也徐徐道出自己跌宕的人生过往。这趟偶然的旅程，不仅触动了他们的心灵，也让二人在平凡的日子中，为彼此的人生留下难忘的美好印记。

　　Two men and a woman circle the globe in a satellite armed with a nuclear device. The third world war breaks out, and a few months later the satellite crashes. 　　因忍受不了男友Moses（任贤齐）的平凡，阿Mi狠心与他分手，塞翁失马焉知祸福，Moses在老人院做义工时，与怪脾气老头蛤蚧王成为忘年之交，后者死后，给他留下巨额遗产。蛤蚧王的此举招致其律师Allen的不满，他在夜总会发泄时无意中将此事告诉了小姐Didi（张柏芝）。　　为将Moses钓到手，Didi使出浑身解数，无奈均不奏效。发现Moses是绝种好男人后，Didi对他动了真心，两人开始热恋，不久，Allen将Didi的原来身份相告Moses，令他异常伤心，此时，阿Mi又前来要与他复合。
